9. Floor with the first secretary’s office

Once the most important hallway in the entire building, it led to the office of the first secretary  of the Polish United Workers’ Party and to the back offices of the Party’s regional headquarters. Located on this floor was also the Complaints Department (later of Letters and Inspections), and for a time the Regional Party Propaganda Centre and the room of the Committee archive staff. At the time of the Faculty of History, the premises of the Party’s secretariat were the dean’s office and secretariat. Today, following modifications of the interior layout, this section of the building is part of the Enigma Cipher Centre exhibit, where elements of the secretariat’s furnishings, e.g. old strongboxes, have been preserved.
