When the building was the regional headquarters of the Workers’ Party, the room behind the door housed the Basic Party Unit gathering administrative personnel and staff. The venue was also a recreation area and in the 1970s a cinema; this is where party members held private screenings of e.g. movies rejected by censors. When the building was used by the AMU Faculty of History (1990–2015), the place was a reading room of the History Institute Library. Today, the premises are used by the AMU University Library.
