Decode the building

Decode the building

Discover a unique building in the heart of Poznań that once housed the Regional Committee of the Polish United Workers’ Party (PZPR).

Would you like to learn the history of the building from which the Party governed the city and the region during the communist era? Are you curious where the First Secretary of the Regional Committee had his office and how the building came to be taken over by the Faculty of History at Adam Mickiewicz University?

Thanks to our visitor trail, you can uncover the secrets of this remarkable site. The trail consists of 14 plaques with QR codes, placed both on the façade and inside the building. You’ll find three additional ones in the Enigma Cipher Center exhibition.

Look for the plaques starting from the entrance and main hall, all the way up to the fifth floor, near the staircases leading to the upper levels. Each plaque is another step in a fascinating journey through the history of this place.
